Learn to make story-telling photos; get a better success rate with your photos; improve composition; recognize great light; experiment with fill-flash and dusk photography, use a fun iPhone App; understand people photography, and more!

My workshops are about real learning, both on location and in-class group projections.

Classes are at my home in Mill Valley, and our locations are in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We always enjoy an enthusiastic spirit of camaraderie and support.

Photographers of all levels are welcome, including those who use Smartphones.

A multi-day photo workshop with National Geographic photographer Catherine Karnow

Plenty of on-location teaching as well as in-class group projections

A small group of maximum 8 guests only

Unique workshop experiences carefully curated by Catherine Karnow, and designed to give guests the best possible photo opportunities

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

Transportation - We will share cars. Guests will chip in for gas, tolls, and parking.

Meals - Guests will chip in for group meals.

Your health and safety are of utmost importance. We will be practicing Covid-19 precautions and following CDC guidelines.

  • We will share cars, in ways that feel safe to participants.

  • Group critiques will be held in my living room, which is very open and airy, and we can social-distance.

  • All guests are required to take a Covid-19 test: PCR, Antigen, or home test. Test will need to be taken no more than 72 hours before workshop start time. Once guest receives negative test result, guest will need to email the result to catherinekarnow@yahoo.com. Catherine Karnow and staff are fully vaccinated.

  • Workshop protocols will adhere to CDC guidelines, with regards to mask-wearing. It may or may not be necessary at the time to wear masks outdoors.
